How and where a tourist rental is registered in Comunitat Valenciana, how guests are reported and how long the registration lasts.
Registration
Registro de Turismo de la Comunitat Valenciana — número VT-000000-X (A/CS/V) + distintivo
A blocking 3-stage procedure: (1) a favourable municipal Informe de Compatibilidad Urbanística (ICU — a planning-compatibility report), with a unique, individualized cadastral reference; (2) a declaración responsable (sworn compliance statement) filed with the Dirección General de Turismo (GVA) including the ICU's CSV (secure verification code); (3) assignment of the VT number and official sign.

VUT, a whole home let for a maximum of 10 consecutive days to the same tenant (11 days or more falls under the LAU's seasonal-lease rules instead). Room-by-room rental is banned — this is the shortest such definition in Spain.

Expiry
Registration is valid for 5 years from filing (renewals start from August 2029). To renew it, a new renewal declaración responsable must be filed, with the owner's express permission, within the month before each period ends, together with an updated favourable municipal urban-compatibility report (or equivalent document). If 5 years pass without renewal, the property is removed from the register. Properties registered before Decree-law 9/2024 do not have to include the statement on the homeowners' association agreement in the renewal. A change of ownership requires a new declaración responsable (except by inheritance) with a new municipal report (art. 23 bis of Decree 10/2021, as amended by art. 133 of Ley 3/2026).
